NOW HUNTING NEW LIONS & LIONESSES FOR 2017
The North London Lions are hunting new players to join the Club in 2017.
Each year we say goodbye to a wonderful crew of Lions and Lionesses as they return to Australia or head off on other adventures. With 3 mens teams and a ladies team to field each week, that means we need new players, supporters and club members to get involved and make the year ahead a great one.
As well as being very competitive on the field (Premiership winners in 2015 and 2012 most recently), the Lions take our social activities equally seriously. Each year we hold a range of events, including training Boot Camps, pre and post Season international trips (for guys and girls teams) plus a lot more. Training begins in mid January, with practice matches (and trips) across February, March and April. The Season proper begins in May and runs through until Grand Finals in early August. Highlights already confirmed for 2017 include:
-- Pre Season training begins (both on field and at the pub after) on Sunday 15th January.
- Australia Day party
- Pre Season 'Lion Vs Lion' game at Cambridge Uni
- Pre Season 'Lion Vs Lion' game at Birmingham Uni, for both guys and girls teams
- Lads pre season trip and game to Cork, Ireland
- Ladies pre season trip and game to Paris, France
- Plus lots more to come!
All levels of playing experience are very welcome, from those who have played at high levels back in Australia, to those coming completely new to the game. Everyone that wants to play will get a game at North London, and across our 4 teams there is a standard to suit and challenge everyone. We train in Regents Park, central London, which is easy to reach from several different tube lines and we draw players from all over London. Our home games are at Bounds Green on the Picadilly Line.
The Coaches have been confirmed for Season 2017, and all are very happy to chat to prospective players or those wanting a bit more info before committing. Don't hesitate to get in touch and we'll answer any questions you might have.
