Welcome to the Lions!
The North London Lions are an Aussie Rules football club, based north of the River Thames in London.
Founded in 1990, today we field three teams in the AFL London league (two men's teams and one women's team). We are a Club that prides itself on being competitive and social in equal measures. On the field we take our sport seriously and play to win, while off the field we make the most of every social opportunity.
Our community today, and including hundreds of ex-Lions covers London, the UK, Australia and most other parts of the globe, including Europe, North and South America, Asia and more.
Our year starts early in January with pre-season training, and continues all year with games, social events, international trips and more. The season here in London runs from May - August, with finals played in late July and early August.

Meet the Team
Committee and Coaches

Christina Taglientti
Vice President
Christina started at the club in 2024 and has not looked back since! Moving over to London all alone she was on the hunt for a club that emulated good vibes paired with development of her non-existent footy skills. This club is more than a club, it’s given her some amazing lifelong friendships and has honestly shaped her London life. #NLL 🦁

Larry Cullen
Vice President
Larry “Big Lazza” Cullen, the Irish stallion from Gorey in Wexford is looking forward to stepping into his role as Vice-President of the North London Lions for 2026. He’s hoping to put in a better performance off-field this year than what he achieved on-field in 2025 and his favourite movie is Chopper.

Ben Wright
Secretary
Ben has been with the Lions for 3 years now after moving to London from Perth 10 years ago, avid West Coast and Claremont supporter and big time sports fan following the NHL, NFL and F1. Played Junior footy in WA and is looking forward to 2026 with the club and working with the Executive team to help grow the club and make this season one of the best yet!

David Sheehan
Media Manager
Dave joined the club in 2025, having kicked his first goal ever in his 2nd match (some say this is where he peaked, we say it's just the beginning). Since joining the Lions, he has found a new love for the game that he's enjoyed watching all these years and looks forward to brining some fresh ideas to the club in 2026. If you're DM'ing us, pretty good chance you're chatting to this hunk.
