Damian Hoare Annoucned as New Senior Coach for 2020

Updated: Oct 27, 2019

📣 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT 📣

It’s with great excitement that we welcome Damian “Sauce” Hoare as head coach of the North London Lions for 2020.

Sauce joined us mid-way through 2019 and slipped straight into the NLL fold, playing a handful of games and using his experience (and height) to great effect.

Towards the business end of the year, he was also able to help our ruck division with some craft and positioning, something that helped our women’s team secure their first ever flag.

Having played for 13 years and 230 games in the Geelong Football League with St Mary’s FC that netted him a Senior Premiership and a League Reserves BnF (from 4 games!) and the last couple of years in the Bellarine FNL with Drysdale FC as a playing assistant coach, he brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the club.

🏉 🏆 🥇

After 2 years as co-coaches, Luke Stevenson and Chris Dobson aren’t going anywhere! Along with Michael Barker, they will form part of Sauce’s assistant coaching group. Stevo will concentrate on player development, Dobbo on recruiting/welfare and Booba will continue as match day runner. On Saturday’s the group will all be on hand to ensure all aspects of the game are covered.

We are pumped to have Damian "Sauce" Hoare agreeing to be the club coach for 2020 AFL London season.

Welcome aboard big fella!
